8 years ago today, I had a hip replacement on my left side. I had hip arthritis in that left hip. Ouch.
Just before that surgery, I did my own Detox Plan for Athletes Anti-inflammatory version (should prob write a book for that…) and learned how certain foods increase inflammation and the resulting pain.
It is how I developed my own Anti-inflammatory program and help others lower inflammation.
Hmm, I guess the anti-inflammatory plan wasn’t quite enough to stop arthritis….so what else is going on??
It is my nature to understand how things happen. When I had adrenal exhaustion, I researched how an athlete gets to exhaustion like me…..it was my way of dealing with stress that needed improvement as well as my nutrition routine. And I recovered quickly. It is how I learned that the body can heal given the right tools.
Turns out as a sensitive person, and many of you are, I took criticism personally and became my best critic. I also felt unsupported as a result. Heck, I didn’t always support myself for fear of being criticized. It was safer not to support me and my ideas than to be criticized.
I also took on burdens energetically from others as I wanted to ease their pain. Well, that just added to the arthritis and degradation of my hip. You can read here how I took on my grandmother’s and prior generations issues of shock, betrayal, destruction and unprotected energy – all stored in that hip. No wonder it was degenerating from arthritis!
8 years ago I was amazed how changing my food intake could make my pain go away! ALL of it!
The anti-inflammatory plan rocks!
The anti-inflammatory plan rocks!
Today I am amazed at how much I have worked on feeling supported, loved and safe and how my hip is actually improving rather than continuing to degenerate. To heck with you arthritis!
Today’s yoga session was probably the best I have done that class in 3 years. The more I do, the more range of motion I get. The more I have focused on proper alignment and returned to the weight room to do single leg exercises, the more stable I get.
Although I still have a ways to go to get back to running, playing tennis and cycling the way I want to ride, but today I am celebrating all that I have learned and the progress I have made.
