God is like the Moon
When you wake up in the dark, you can sometimes feel lost, scared and abandoned.
If you keep you eyes closed, you may fall back to sleep and go back to dreaming.
You may decide to use the light of the moon to aid in your waking and allow the light of the moon to light your path.
The light of the Moon is similar to God and Divine Light.
The light is always there even when you cannot see it.
The moon light is always there although brighter to our human eyes some days more so than others. When the moon is full, it illuminates the night sky and sometimes your bedroom or rooms of the house so you may see clearly even in the thick of night.
The Moon is always there even if behind the clouds.
The Moon is there even in daylight.
The Moon is always reflecting light even when it seems there may be none.
This is like our perception of God.
At times of struggle and challenge we feel God is a waning Moon.
Yet we want Him to be full.
This is the perception, the illusion. The reality is, when you are connected to God, in good times and bad, He is always full of light. He is always shining upon us so we can find the way.
It is just our human perception that His light is dimmed and only a sliver of light shows.
It is we who have dimmed our ability to see. Especially when things are going well, we forget sometimes to continue talking with God and see his brilliant light guiding our way. To Thank him, talk with him, just ask what’s up God?
We tend to look for that Light only when times are challenging or rough.
God is always like a full Moon.
It is our challenge to keep in full contact with Him so that we may see and feel this beautiful light leading our every step of the way.
