This is now Day 4 of the 2 Week Detox Plan2 Detox Plan
where some days I fly thru it with no pain, plenty of energy and think ‘This anti-inflammatory diet thing really does work!” And I know it really works. but then Mother Nature goes and changes the weather and it dips below 10 which prompts my hip to ache. The past few night I was able to sleep thru the nights, so that is good.
Yesterday, I went swimming which I do twice a week. It’s quite a production to get to the pool, locker room, etc with gear bag and heavy coat and back pack…and all this using a cane. Yes, I do now use a cane to walk further distances as it helps me alleviate some of the pressure on that left hip. I can actually go walk from the far side of the parking lot! But still kinda comical I am sure to see me walking in with it. Usually I take an Advil either before or after swimming. This time was the first where I swam with minimal pain during the swim or after. But then 3-4 hours later is when the aches set in. Made me so sleepy last night, too that I was in bed by 9 PM. And yes, I took a Solpedeine at night only so I could sleep. I am too scared not to take anything lest I wake up in pain. But inflammation is tiring. Even though I seem to be managing the pain when I have it most mornings, I seem to need an hour more sleep per night.
This morning, I woke up later than usual, and my hip still ached and was stiff. I think I even heard my knees creeking! Oh, please let the next 11 days start better than this! After that morning trainer ride, The pain seemed to dissipate. This is good, as I need to get some work done, see some clients. Me being in discomfort does not allow for my best work to shine. In those moments when I have no pain, I feel euphoric. I know this anti-inflammatory diet is helping to keep the pain at a minimum. But I know I am ready to stop being consumed with worry about every step or move I make as to whether it will result in a twinge or ache or pain.
