Last week I talked about how I was suffering with a degenerated hip condition, yet I really wasn’t suffering that bad. The hip doesn’t have to hurt that bad. And for me, Nutrition Response Testing along with an anti-inflammatory diet have been the key to my pain management.
This week I had a client with lower back pain came in for his Nutrition Response Testing session. After doing the body scan, we found that chlorine was the main culprit to his pain. But it doesn’t have to hurt if we could just figure out how to help the body eliminate the chlorine better! I was not going to tell him to stop swimming, as that is also one thing that has been helpful in minimizing the pain. And the stretching in the hot tub. So we tested a few supplements, too for helping the body to detoxify. And we recommended an anti-chlorine body wash. With these combinations, we can make that back pain go away.
We also reviewed other nutrition options so that back doesn’t have to hurt as much. My client admitted, that he had stopped eating as many greens, and eating more tomatoes from his garden. The greens are anti-inflammatory, while tomatoes are pro-inflammatory! He might be able to minimize the pain with just the food alone?
Come out this Wednesday to EMS in Warrington, PA for a Nutrition and Injury Prevention clinic where I will be talking about the anti-inflammatory diet, while Derek Gearhart, DO will talk about Gait Analysis to prevent injury.
