Stress is a contributor to poor eating choices, physical pain, sleep disturbances and GI distress to name a few.
Every symptom or condition is worsened with stress. Yes, stress makes things worse. Period.
We cannot always eliminate the stress, but we can make some changes so the affects of the stress are less ‘debilitating’.
I got a call from a client who has some aching thumbs and some other body pain. We have included the JShake anti-inflammatory elixir and things improved almost immediately. They already had started an anti-inflammatory protocol eliminating white sugar and wheat. But the shake was ‘a miracle cure’ as they called it. It is a great way to start an Anti-Inflammatory plan.
When they first contacted me, it was when the family went away so life that week was ‘easier’. Less stress, less pain.
I suggested a high EPA supplement so when the family returns and it is again a full house, the pain won’t come back as severely. More stress will make things worse. Because a full house in Covid times is stressful, I told them to be prepared for the pains to return a week after the family did.
And it did.
And it did.
This morning, they called asking ‘What else am I allergic to? Maybe I need to eliminate more foods?’
I asked more questions about stress and what the current situation is.
– i work from home
– i am meetings day and day out.
– the whole family is home and not going anywhere.
– after all the meetings, i still have to make dinner.
Reality is, we are all a bit stressed. Stress makes things worse. It became evident that we need to work on stress management and how to use foods to minimize stress. We also discussed the need to carve out time for ourselves every day and often several times during the day!!
Intuitively, I knew we needed to work on stress management and amping up the self-care during the day rather than change the foods. They are already on a full anti-inflammatory protocol. They were using essential oils, too. We also did some spiritual and emotional work to find trauma from childhood, or beliefs from observing how adults interact and that energy was stuck in the thumbs – how they deal with life.
We went over options to see which would make sense on how they can carve out time for some self care:
– they already go swimming or some movement therapy every morning.
– can they call into meetings rather than be on group zoom calls? This can minimize the zoom fatigue
– can they put in a cushion in between meetings so they can go de-stress, go for a short walk outside, stretch, anything but feel stuck in front of the computer screen?
– since they are higher management in the company, maybe they can schedule some meetings differently to allow that break and cushion?
– maybe they can opt out of a meeting every day??
We didn’t discuss this yet, but maybe they can get the other family members to either help cook, make more one day to minimize days cooking, and maybe their husband cooks a few times a week so they get a break.
That can be another option.
That can be another option.
But we’ll see how the ‘carving out time for self care’ goes first…..
What other suggestions would you have?
Doing some energy work also helped ground the client and find the underlying emotional issue that was leading to the increased stress levels.
Changing the vibration of the client by releasing the energy blocks allows the body to respond to stress differently and at a much lower degree.
