Do you ever wonder if stress and emotional trauma have anything to do with your health issue??
I do alot of emotional trauma injury along with my nutrition therapy coaching.
I always, always ask if there was an acute stressful episode or chronic stress going on within 3-6 months before the symptoms started.
Every time the answer is ‘yes’.
The emotional trauma can also be from things in childhood or previous lives where we are now ready to heal that issue.
The body stores the emotional trauma even if your mind has put it into a safe box never to be seen.
I wrote a few things on Adverse Childhood Experiences so you can read up on that childhood trauma and health connection.
In my experience, both personally and with my clients, there is a connection between stress, emotions and your health. Yes, the emotions are totally related and relationships are often a stress. The stress triggers a fight or flight response, then trigger to eat for comfort which can lead to an imbalance in the gut, inflammation and health issues …then the stress eating doesn’t help and adds to the stress increasing symptoms.
Until you deal with and heal that emotional stuff, the symptoms will probably continue regardless of what diet plan you are on. Even with the anti-inflammatory plan, I have seen these unresolved emotional issues need to be healed so the plan can work better. We need to dive into those emotional triggers so we can move past just diet and really allow the body to heal from inside out.
You have to connect with what brings you joy and go beyond just food to heal all the layers to your health issue. This isn’t to mean you will be in emotional healing forever. You won’t. If you want your health issue to really be resolved, start with the anti-inflammatory diet or other nutritional and lifestyle modifications.
Then once you feel better and can manage the symptoms, it is time to take that deeper dive into what emotional stress are you holding onto that the health issue is masking.
Then you will be able to achieve a body and life that you love that is in optimal health for years to come.
You may also know there is a relationship between stress, emotions and your health – we’ll just help you be on that upside of the equation 🙂
