Is emotional trauma from childhood causing your pain?
It seems to be a common occurrence I have seen with clients as well as with me. Emotional traumas from childhood can cause physical pain. It is not just inflammatory foods that cause physical pain, although the Anti-Inflammatory Diet can help immensely with physical pain.
Recently, I was listening to webinars from the Microbiome Summit where there is a connection between the gut health (microbiome) and your brain health. There is a connection with your emotions, too based on your gut ecology. The more out of balance we are in the microbiome, the more food cravings we have, the more comfort foods we reach for.
If you have read Constant Cravings by Doreen Virtue, she mentions that our comfort foods help us self-medicate our emotions. When we actually need some self-love rather than the food.
She has a list of foods that commonly mean certain aspects of self love are missing so we choose particular foods to alleviate the painful emotion rather than actually healing or dealing with the emotion.
For example, if you crave crunchy chips (corn or potato), it usually means you are stressed and anxious and want to ease the worry”. You are seeking validation. The healing can be done with an affirmation of self-love of “I am willing to trust that everything works out for the best. I let go of feeling responsible for everything and everyone around me.”
Often, when I feel overwhelmed, I do reach for sweet potato corn chips. I realize that my next step is really to just look at the project from the ‘what is my next step to take’ aspect rather than be overwhelmed with the whole list of tasks. I now recognize the emotion, and I still eat the chips, but now I don’t eat the whole bag, just a handful …..and I enjoy them without guilt as I understand the emotional attachment.
During this Microbiome summit, I listened to Niki Gratrix’s webinars on ACE’s which are Adverse Childhood Experiences. I like to refer to them as emotional trauma’s we experience in childhood. Your parents don’t say things intentionally to hurt us, but sometimes, the emotional trauma we experience in childhood, results in physical pain later on in life. These ACE’s can cause a disruption in the microbiome negatively, and as we continue to eat the comfort foods to help the emotional trauma, we are also further disrupting this microbiome, which triggers emotional issues, which trigger more food cravings and more disruption of the gut flora in usually a negative way.
In the work that I do, I can help to re-balance that microbiome and help identify where those childhood trauma’s have occurred. Using the Path To Heal system, I can identify the emotional wounds, often from age 0-3 or from 3 generations back, and energetically clear the wounds causing a disruption in your body’s energy field. This will stop the food cravings, it can stop the physical pain as well as further emotional pain stemming from trying to avoid re-experiencing the emotional pain…which leads to typically eating low energy foods and comfort foods which are typically inflammatory like sugar, cookies, wheat, candy, etc.
This past week, I was conducting my last of a group series, Spring into The Wholeness of Your Life.
We addressed some of the unconscious emotional issues all the callers and attendees shared in common. We manifest them differently, but have similar underlying wounds.
After the session, one of the participants indicated her pain went from a 6-7, down to a 3 level. This is big as they were unaware that emotional wounds would have contributed to the pain.
Year ago, when my hip was degenerating, I experienced a lot of pain. I was experimenting with the Nutrition Response Testing and also with the Anti-Inflammatory diet to help ease the pain. It made a huge difference. I was also going to Path To Heal training classes. Often at these 1-2 day intensive classes, I would go with my hip hurting like crazy! I would after several healing sessions experience no pain whatsoever and could almost skip in the parking lot or outside during a break.
If you have physical pain, it may be a result of both the foods you eat, and the emotional experiences from childhood that have adversely affected the body. Is your emotional trauma causing your pain??
If you suspect your pain is more than just physical, it may be time to schedule your private Path To Heal session, or jump in on the 8 week series, Spring into the Wholeness of Your Life where we can identify and clear the emotional issues so you can get back to living without the physical pain.
If you are unsure what is right for you, schedule your 15 minute free chat session so we can review your situation and determine the next steps that are right for you.
